NEW IN: Olivia Palermo's Debut Makeup Collection For Ciate London

It seems that every makeup brand is collaborating with a famous face right now, but Ciate have definitely scooped one of the most aspirational and coveted celebrity ambassadors of the moment. Fresh on the heels of the nail polish trio that set the beauty world alight (find out why it was my 'product of the week' here,) Ciate London and Olivia Palermo are teaming up once again for a full makeup collection that's inspired by Olivia’s love of luxury, high fashion and wearable looks. The range (which includes lipsticks, khol pencils, contouring palettes and eyeshadow staples) plays with different textures, offers innovative formulas and has a stunning variety of Olivia’s favourite fall hues for eye, lip and cheek. Enhanced with beautiful vintage inspired packaging, these products are definitely covetable - albeit an unnecessary indulgence.

Olivia says: "When developing the collection I wanted to create a variety of textures and shades in the same way I love to mix patterns, fabrics and accessories to style the perfect outfit. Many of the names were chosen to represent not only the hue but the unique textures specially developed for this collection. Others are eclectic touches from my own life and style." Attention to detail is key in her collection; from the textured boxes and rich golden packs, to the embossed initials in the bullets of her lipsticks, you can immediately see the care and passion that's been injected into these products. The rich leatherette material of the compact makes it feel like it's come straight from the dressing table of a Poirot murder mystery, while the timeless golden tones of the lipstick cases would cause some of the most famous vixens to blush with excitement.

As you'd expect, the textures are rich and qualitative too. I adore these nail paints (£17.00), having been addicted to the previous red shade that was launched earlier in the year since it landed on my desk; they apply beautifully, leaving a rich pigment and glossy finish that dries quickly. The 'Satin Kiss' (£19.00) lipsticks are smooth, creamy and comfortable to wear - while providing a great colour result on the lips. The delicate tones of the 'Cheekbone Cheat' (£25.00) blush-bronze duo are perfectly suited to Olivia's pale complexion, not overloading the skin or providing a shade that's too overpowering. Although these will never become cult classics or find themselves winning prestigious awards, all of the products are delightful.

If you're a fan of Ciate, Olivia or just great makeup, it may be worth picking up one or two key pieces that you know you'll treasure and enjoy. The price is somewhat prohibitive for the masses, but it definitely keeps them a little more premium and aspirational. Many celebrity collaborations feel like the 'face' in question has just slapped their name on a pack and gleefully recieved their cheque - but with 'Olivia Palermo X Ciate London' you can definitely tell a lot of thought and personality has been injected into the range. I can tell this is more than endorsement; this is something Olivia is proud to put her name to.
